Welcome to the Parkway Christian School Website!  I pray that each of you will be as excited and encouraged about what is happening at Parkway as I am.  This is truly an exhilarating time to be a part of this incredible school, and I am grateful that God has called me to this place. 

When I consider the legacy that Parkway has been blessed with, I am filled with appreciation for so many.  First, I am encouraged with the faithfulness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.   He has continually provided us with blessing after blessing, allowing us to provide a school of excellence that meets the needs of a wide range of students.  Second, I am grateful to all who have gone before us, and laid a foundation that is sure and strong.  We can build with confidence because of this, and our influence is greater because the foundation is solid.  Finally, I am in awe of our Parkway family today.  Our board, administration, staff, parents and students are united with one purpose: to be a school that is pleasing in the eyes of the Lord.  It is truly a joy to come to work every day, and I live in anticipation of what He has planned for the future.  I am humbled that God has given me the opportunity to serve the Parkway family as the new Head of School, and I am both energized and eager to begin the next phase of this incredible journey.

All that we do at Parkway is based on a philosophy termed Kingdom Education.  Glen Shultz, author of Kingdom Education, defines it as, “A life-long, Bible-based, Christ-centered process of leading a child to Christ, building a child up in Christ, and equipping a child to serve Christ”  (Shultz, 2003).  The process requires that we purposefully examine all that we do and align it to the Word of God.  Two components of Kingdom Education that involve how our students are viewed and taught are especially central to our mission.  The first centers on our identity.  We learn from the Word that each child, indeed each person, is a unique individual.  God gives different gifts and talents to everyone, and our focus involves identifying the individual gifts and talents of the students, helping them to develop and sharpen those gifts and talents, and finally to provide an opportunity for the students to practice displaying those gifts and talents.  It is so exciting to watch as the students mature and become polished in their area of expertise.  This leads to the students developing their ability and joy in serving others, which assists them in becoming fully functioning members of the Body of Christ.

The second component consists of teaching so that students develop a biblical worldview.  Through biblical worldview integration, connecting curriculum to the Bible, Biblical Studies classes, and weekly chapels we endeavor to train up our students in the way they should go.  Combined with our strong academic, athletic, and fine arts programs, we equip our students to become what God has desired for them to become, and to be confident, life-long servants of the Lord.

It is our prayer that each family who is a part of Parkway will be enriched and strengthened, and that together we will educate students for eternity.  Psalm 127:1 is essential to our vision, “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders’ labor in vain.  Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain. “  It is our desire that the Lord builds our house and watches over it, and to this end we endeavor to seek His will in all that we do.  I pray that God blesses you richly as He leads and guides you and your family.
